There's only one person who can get Barack Obama into the White House, and that's Tim Kaine. He's an exciting, passionate, intelligent moderate that can reach out to the voters that can create a true Democratic majority for the next 16 years!

Tim Kaine speaks spanish! We know that John McCain's gonna have a lot of pull with the Latino community because of his courageous stance on immigration, so it's really important that we have a guy that can reach out to them. Did you know that Tim Kaine worked as a missionary? Now, I'm not gonna be silly enough to prop that up as some sort of foreign policy experience - if we're gonna be THAT prepostrous, we might as well start talking him up as Commander In Chief of the Virginia National Guard or something. I'm just saying that it helps on the campaign trail.
And Tim Kaine has a lot in common with Barack Obama. They both went to Harvard, and when they left, they put themselves to work for the poorest of Americans. How swell is that? Their parents grew up in the same small town, and their really good friends, too. Did you know that Tim Kaine was the first major politician outside of Illinois to endorse Barack Obama? Now, I know there are a few guys who might be better demogrpahic picks for this reason or that reason or the other, and I know some of you like Brian Schweitzer. But being VP is an important job! Do you think Obama would be crazy enough to take some Governor of a rural western state that he probably never even met before?
No offense, but be serious.
Tim Kaine has also been a strong surrogate on television, and he projects a calm, collected style - voters crave stability above all else. Barack's VP choice shouldn't be controversial or suspect to caricature. Aside from that creepy thing he does with his eyebrow, there's not much there for say, SNL to make fun of.

Kaine's appearance at the Baltimore event was announced on July 11, just as speculation over his vice presidential prospects were ramping up. Some believed he would be in a secret meeting with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama earlier today, but Kaine has insisted otherwise.
