With wins looking more and more likely in Alaska and Minnesota, we have a serious chance to win that 60 seat majority, and that provides a MUCH stronger position to enact progressive legislation without Red Team interference or cut stronger deals at the bargaining table due to the added leverage.

This runoff is a turnout election - Saxby Chambliss is rallying his base with the same despicable personal attacks he used against Vietnam hero Max Cleland, the same under the rader attacks from out of state Republican 527's. Jim Martin's message is one of renewed optimism in America in the wake of a potentially great President's election.

Don't spend these next two years watching clean energy, health care, and veteran's care get clogged up in Congressional bickering. Don't spend them staring at Saxby's grinning mug, wishing we had one more vote! Think about Tom Perriello in that deep red VA-05. Think about Eric Massa in NY-29. They both worked their butts of in deep red districts this cycle when the odds were against them and came through - and Jim Martin's the same, storming back from 30 points down, coming from behind in his own primary, doing the oldest way there is - being in touch with the needs of the state. He's in much, much better shape than those guys - this race is a jump ball. He has the funding. He has the base of support.
